20241005 - The worlds we live in

Over the years, I have heard about the many worlds that exist, based on upbringing, beliefs, etc. Bhuloka - earth I think  Swargaloka - heaven  Narakaloka - hell Paatalaloka - I don't know what it is in english  etc., etc ... As I said earlier, these are driven by our belief system, upbringing and to a certain extent, also underscored by our religious beliefs. I am sure there are many more... However, I have no real proof for most of them, except earth... Within the earth, I think we live in 5 worlds : 1. Political world  2. Economic world  3. Technological world  4. The planet world & 5. personal world. Again, I am sure there are many more dimensions to cut it into, but these are what I feel we are primarily in. 1. The political world: primarily driven by borders as countries/ nations based on all kinds of reasons - geographical, religious, language, you name it. Primarily driven by ego and power. Whether we like it or not, we belong to one of those pl...

20220918 : recession?

Almost any news I tune into from the world over, there are two major news  (i) the war  (ii) the economy as a result of the pandemic and war.  Almost everyone is screaming in unison of a looming recession. Shrinking GDPs, increasing inflation etc. But why is this a recession? Definitely for you and me and everyone else, it is certainly a very painful time, but is it a recession. On the one hand, we keep screaming "climate change", its ugly impacts etc.  We can mince our words and say it in many unintelligible ways, the harsh truth is that this planet cannot sustain this level of population and its demand for resources. Apart from India and many other asian and African countries, the population is staring at a collapse due to lowering birth rates. that is a very big problem for us as well. But is it? It's painful for us but isn't it great for humanity and the planet. Why do we need the economy, demand and growth every year. Why don't we aim for a controlled reducti...

20211226 : "save our planet"

This was another thought triggered by a conversation my wife recently had with me. (She was just complaining yesterday she Is very weary of speaking in front of me - lest I write something about it. Boy I am going to hear about this. Or not hear about it - to be on the safer side). I have heard in many places how we can manage to cater to 9.x billion lives by 2050. We are already 7.x billion and struggling, stretching all resources and destroying our planet. Blah, blah, blah, "Climate change", blah, blah, blah.... Really? "Our" planet? I don't know the actual numbers, but I am guessing, there are some Trillions of animals. Trillions of birds. Trillions of insects. Trillions of worms. Trillions of fish and aquatic beings. Etc. Etc. And that is only things that can move about. If we include immobile stuff, there are trillions and trillions of shrubs, plants, trees, etc. Humans are in such insignificant numbers, we don't even figure as a relevant percentage. I ...
