20241201 - The two lines (curves) and their intersection...
In the initial months after my stroke. I could hardly see anything that was moving.
It doesn't have anything to do with my retina, optic nerve etc. in order to focus, our lens have to either bulge or thin out to focus incoming light properly on our retina. This action is controlled by "ciliary" muscles. No points for who controls them - completely by our autonomous nervous system whose seat is in the brain stem.
So, I couldn't see anything that moved. At one thing in one place, it would slowly settle down and focus but couldn't deal with moving things.
This was very exasperated when I was taken somewhere in the car. Couldn't see anything from the side window. Everything was constantly moving and what I saw was just a haze.
Over time, like most things in my body, it started very slowly getting better.
If I describe it as a line , it was an upward moving line with a very small upward gradient. This was a line driven by the work of neuroplasticity.
In the past few weeks, it has become bad again. I don't think it is the neuroplasticity giving up suddenly.
I think it is the line of natural deterioration of the body. We all know very well that to be healthy we need a good balance of diet and exercise (active life)
Diet - well, i get refuelled regularly to keep the vehicle in idle condition. Very far from a balanced diet.
Exercise and active life - well I am lying on the bed for about 18 hours and the rest, I am sitting in one place on my wheelchair in front of my laptop. Can't exactly call that an active life. Can't exactly call that a life too. But since I am still alive, so...
Anyway, needless to say, Age, lack of balanced diet, lack of exercise and active life is deteriorating the body.
That's the second line (curve). It is a downward moving line with a gradient that was gradual initially but I think it is getting more and faster over time. 6 years is a long time to spend lying around and expect this getting older vehicle to keep up.
So, when we superimpose the two lines (curves), i think it was managing to move gradually upward initially but the strength and influence of the second line (curve) has taken over now.
Eyesight is just one thing because it is very visible (or not visible), but the same influence of the superimposed lines are on every part of this body and all organs that aren't visible....
